still enjoying the slow movement of winter this december. just two years ago, on this day, i nearly died of dengue. before that, i was moving quickly for nearly everything in my life. i am not sure what it was about being that sick, but it changed my relationship to time. i embrace the snail, i embrace the sloth!

tomorrow is guadalupe's birthday in mexico. but the night before is usually filled with fireworks and music. our poor dog is afraid of the fireworks. he is already hiding under the bed and it has barely started.
