PSN: yubsy ----------₊✩₊---------- Oct 16, 2025 -- Simon Songs ♫♪♬𝄞 This is undoubtedly the most important thing I'll ever write about on here. Simon Songs. Ballads for my cat son. Symphonies for my little man. There are many Simon Songs. Each is incredibly important and very sophisticated, but a Simon Song is only at its best when performed in its intended venue and circumstance, as each song resonates most effectively in its proper setting. Take for instance, the hit song, Mr. Little Mr. ♫♪♬𝄞 Mr. Little Mr. You are being baaad Say Mr. Little Mr. Please don't make me saaad Now, as can be inferred with rigorous deduction, this song is best sung when Simon is being bad. Most everyone is familiar with Mr. Little Mr., but you may not be aware of its contemporaries, beautiful rock anthems like Big and Strong ♫♪♬𝄞 Big and strooong Small and prooouud Little and smallll This song is simply angelic when performed after Simon acts courageously. If you fancy yourself an enthusiast though, you may find yourself singing, the underrated, Little and Proud ♫♪♬𝄞 He is littleee Aaaand Prouuuuud He is littlllle AAaaand Prooouuuud 100x This song is meant for when Simon is simply standing there, being very small, which happens quite often. Now, with your newfound knowledge of Simon Songs please lift your arms. Lend my son your energy. Give him the proudest performance you can muster. He's just little, you guys. ----------₊✩₊---------- Oct 16, 2025 -- @anopheles Thank you so much! I'm so glad to know a fellow fish enjoys the cozy comforts of survival horror! I think you're a wonderful writer, and I relate hard-style to your sentiments on "the little questions." Little questions are what make life exciting! But generalizing things for the sake of efficiency is sadly commonplace in our modern world. Some of my greatest joys in life have stemmed from seeking answers to little questions and uncovering all there is to learn about something. I love new things. I love little things. I love being excited! ----------₊✩₊---------- 10.14.2025 -- The Cozy Factor of Survival Horror Buckle in, cuz I'm bout to yap. I'll try to keep my thoughts brief, as I don't want to write a whole ass research paper, ✩BUT✩ , we gotta talk survival horror. It's spooky season y'all, and so in honor of this #FFA500 fall season I decided to play through every available Resident Evil game on PSN that I haven't tried yet. (This includes: The original Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3, as well as Code: Veronica X, Revelations 1 and 2, and those goofy ahh railgun shooter Umbrella Chronicles Games.) Wowza. We truly are residentially evil this fall season. But what on earth could compel me to do such a thing?? Well, cuz survival horror is cozy af, homeslice. Let me explain. My journey with the Resident Evil series began with RE7. A return to the series' roots after the insane Michael Bay-esque action flick of a game that was RE6. I found myself falling in love with RE7's immersive setting, stressful action, and its horribly strict but yummy-ummy resource management. After 7, I quickly went on to play RE2 remake, RE4, RE5, RE6, RE3 remake, RE8, and RE4 remake. (yes, in that batshit order cuz the remakes and sequels were still coming out while I was playing through original titles) All this to say, I've been having a good ass time playing me some Resident Evil over the past 8 years. "But what could be cozy about this?" You might be asking. "This shit sounds stressful." You might be saying. "I'm tired. Could you please untie me and let me leave your basement?" You might be requesting. And to that, I'd simply reply, "Well yeah, these games are often very spooky and exceptionally stressful, but that's also part of what makes them so cozy." You see, homeslice, between the setpieces of horror and spookiness, there are a bounty of quiet moments in these games. You spend an awful amount of time without any enemies to be seen, and instead, you find yourself alone in abandoned and deeply liminal spaces. Spaces where people definitely should be, spaces with endless signs that someone was once here, but they're gone now ... And now all you're met with as a player is silence... The sounds of your footsteps... Perhaps the sounds of a fire lit in a distant room... This is meant to have a haunting effect, but there's a certain peace that comes with the silence. For example: You're low on ammo and health. You need to get to across the map, but are unsure what awaits you in the rooms ahead. You dash through a room full of zombies. The music is intense blaring, until you finally enter through the next door. And you're met with quiet. You're safe. You may not be safe in the next room, or even just a few steps further into this one, but you know in this exact moment you're safe. This contrast, from high intensity to peace, is where I think the cozy vibes come from. And nothing better exemplifies this contrast than the RE save rooms. In the RE series, save rooms are one of few spaces that you're guaranteed safety. You can finally restock your ammo and health at the item box. You can save at the typewriter and no longer be at risk of losing all your progress. At last, you can exhale. And you're met with a theme like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLX6reRrD88 Or maybe this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxq5ymqPAsQ To me, the save rooms and their themes completely capture what makes survival horror cozy. One moment where you're safe. You know you'll have to tread out into the dark unknown again at some point, but for now, rest. To me, this is a major part of what RE is all about, and the contrast between tension and quietude is what makes these games cozy. But, if you listen to the themes and still don't get why it's cozy, then idk what to tell you, man... Maybe you just need to try for yourself! ----------₊✩₊---------- 10.11.2025 -- Birthday Fun In Da Sun Just found out yesterday that the formatting of the site is different on mobile D: This means all my fun little dashes hold an entirely different meaning on phones. So sad :( I think I'll just pretend mobile phones don't exist tho, as I love the way things look on my lappy-plappy-plop. <3 It's my mom's birthday tomorrow!!! WOOOOO. So she came down to the Pitt yesterday to celebrate with @roowho @breadbasket and I. Wonderful time. Many burritos. We watched Straw, which was an extremely unhinged and accidentally hilarious movie to watch. I won't get into it, but man, that movie is just so melodramatic and next level absurd. I can't take it. But I LOVE me a goofy movie. I eat goofy movie :0 Tomorrow will likely be much the same. ----------₊✩₊---------- 10.9.2025 (9:32am) -- Uh oh, this might be too fun Y'all, I might be in for a serious problem... I like special fish too much. I love screaming into a void >:0 I be like: "yaghhhhhhh!" Too good. Just have to say a couple things before I ban myself from any more updates today: 1) I love that it's getting colddd! Fall is here, baby. So I got my comfy on and I am just oh so cozy, homeslice. 2) "Walking Theme" from Bully is my entire aura rn. I am full of mischievous energy and unparalleled whimsy. They've tried to stop me, but they cannot. The cats look on in horror as I be tip toeing around the apartment with nefarious schemes on hand. I cackle, head thrust towards the sky, thrashing and gyrating. I am just such a little guy. ----------₊✩₊---------- 10.9.2025 -- I'M STRONGER NOW THAN I'VE LITERALLY EVER BEEN Not like physically, I've probably been stronger at some point, but like mentally, uk? These past several years I've endured a lot! Went through one of the toughest points in my life while in school (survived that shit, hell yeah) And then went through the torrent of pain that is trying to get employed as an animator (survived that shit, helll yeah). Dealt with all kinds of other intensities too like my ma and dad's divorce and COVID and whatnot... In all that time I've made so many changes and grown more than I'd ever think possible. Changes like: I'm finally on antidepressants! :D I don't hate school (as much) Instead of attempting to be an animator I'm now studying to be an electrician! I swim now I go camping now I'm not afraid of bugs! (as much) I have a growing sense for what kind of clothes I like Sometimes I paint little robot models The past several years have been INTENSE, but they've certainly come with joys as well. I've got my beautiful gf @roowho. My sweet cat sons, Silas and Simon. (Simmy is laying on my lap as I type this) Life has been tough, but in these past few months I've gone from dreading the future to being excited about it... mostly! No doubt, I'm one blessed kid. And my mental is more powerful than ever, which is why I can undoubtedly say, I'M STRONGER NOW THAN I'VE LITERALLY EVER BEEN... EVER! So sit back, kick ur feet up, and enjoy, homeslice. Cuz wherever I'm headed, good times are abound.
